Bio-Profile:

Dr Satish Boolell, O.S.K, LRCP LRCS LM (Ireland), DMJ (clin) DMJ (path) UK, previously used to work as the Chief Police Medical Officer. He is currently a private medico-legal consultant in Mauritius and Seychelles. He is also the visiting lecturer in forensics in some medical faculties. His fields of expertise include criminal and sexual assaults and drugs. He is also the acclaimed author of “Forensics In Paradise”.

Mr Abdool Kader Jackaria graduated with B.Sc degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the University of Liverpool and an M.Sc degree in Forensic Science from the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow. He joined the Forensic Science Laboratory in 1972 as a basic Scientific Officer and after 33 years retired as its Director.

As a forensic scientist, he first introduced the Alcotest, Direct Alcohol Breath Testing and the instrumental analytical method by HeadSpace Gas Chromatography for the determination of alcohol in blood and urine.

After retiring in Mauritius, he spent 3 years with Seychelles Police assisting chiefly in the analysis of Drugs of Abuse: Cannabis, Hashish and Heroin, and supporting his evidence in the courts there. He now advises and assists in Forensic Science whenever called upon.
