Course synopsis:
The course will attempt to look into more details at the Istanbul Convention (The Council of Europe Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence) and the GREVIO (Group of Experts on Action against Violence against Women and Domestic Violence)  Reports and some of the thorny issues in combating such violence including the tension between property rights and personal security and between child visitation rights and violence against women, marital rape, the use of mediation and other ADR methods. There will inevitably have to be some overlap in setting the scene and some key definitions.
