"Advocacy (Criminal and Civil) according to the HAMPEL METHOD - Third Part"

CPD (Continuing Professional Development)

Applications are invited from barristers of less than 7 years of calling to follow a course in advocacy (Criminal and Civil) according to the HAMPEL METHOD. The course will be conducted by a team trained by the Inns of Court College of Advocacy (ICCA) and which has been found fit and competent to do so.

The course is in three parts :

(1) The first part will take place on Thursday 27th September 2018 from 14.00 to 16.00 hours and will deal with case analysis. This first part will be conducted by Mr Justice Benjamin Joseph, Mrs N Bundhun SC, Mr Hervé Duval SC.

(2) The second part will take place Thursday 25th October 2018 from 14.00 to 16.00 hrs and will deal with examination in chief. The second part will be conducted by Mrs Ah Foon Chui Yew Cheong, Mrs Magistrate Najiyah Dauharry Jeewa, Mr Sanjay Bhuckory SC, Mr Yahia Nazroo, Mr Didier Dodin and  Mr Medaven Armoogum.

(3) The third part will take place on Thursday 29th November 2018 from 14.00 to 16.00 hours and will deal with cross examination. The third part will be conducted by Mrs Ah Foon Chui Yew Cheong, Mrs Mokshda Pertaub, Mrs Narghis Bhundhun SC.

Applicants should ensure that they are able to follow ALL 3 parts. A certificate of attendance will be given to only those who complete the 3 parts.

You are advised to apply as early as possible as only 15 applications will be retained. Please indicate whether you prefer to follow the course of Criminal or Civil Advocacy.

The above training will also be counted as CPD.
